Description

The Town of Cumberland invites qualified planning consulting firms to submit proposals for professional planning services in support of a full update to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Town’s Planning Department will complete several plan elements in-house; the selected consultant will be responsible for four elements requiring outside expertise: Historical and Cultural Resources, Economic Development, Services and Facilities, and Land Use. This hybrid approach ensures full compliance with the Rhode Island Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Regulation Act (RIGL §45-22.2) while leveraging the Town’s internal capacity. The Town seeks experienced consultants with expertise in historic preservation, economic development, municipal services, and land use planning, along with demonstrated experience in Rhode Island regulatory compliance and community engagement.
