RCY10001 Recycling 15 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 202615 April 2026 mailto: Shane.Harris@eku.edu Eastern Kentucky University RFP-484-2026 Industrial and E-Waste Recycling Service Intent & Scope This Request for Proposal (RFP) is being issued to obtain proposals from qualified, financially-sound, and responsible recycling companies on an as-needed basis. The Successful Offeror(s) shall provide a comprehensive recycling program to pick up and transport for reuse, recycle, de-manufacture or disposal of the University’s outdated or non-working electronics equipment, glass, and other industrial waste (cardboard, plastics and paper). It is the University’s intent that all waste is recycled to the fullest extent and the amount ending up in a landfill is minimal. It is also the intent of the University to select one vendor to provide the recycling services if a vendor can provide a comprehensive solution for all materials. HOWEVER, one firm may be unable to meet the full range of the University’s recycling needs. Therefore, the University reserves the right to enter into more than one agreement if necessary and to award contracts to multiple vendors for these services as The University reserves the right to award more than one contract if deemed in the University’s best interest. Note to Vendors Offerors must have a roll-on/roll-off truck to access the University's carboard compactor. Please be certain to review and answer the question regarding availability of this equipment in the "Executive Summary/Proposal" section of this RFP. Vendor Requirements 1. Provide copies of all compliance documents, certificates and shipping papers that are required by state and federal regulatory requirements and those available to the University. 2. Provide a detailed description of the offeror's process for how industrial and e-waste will be handled. 3. List all recycling facilities that will be used. Provide the following information for each facility: a. Name and Address b. State Environmental Agency Contact c. Date and Results of most recent inspection Note to Vendors In order to participate in any solicitation event for Eastern Kentucky University, offerors must first be registered with the University's Jaggaer e-Procurement system. If you are not currently registered as a vendor in the system, please contact the Procurement Official listed below for assistance regarding your registration. All questions submitted by deadline will be addressed via Addendum that will be posted within the "'Buyer Attachments" section. Please note that in order for your proposal to be considered "complete," you must download, acknowledge, sign, and upload any addendums issued with your full proposal. The closing date for this solicitation will be 5/14/2026 at 2:00PM (EST) and all proposals must be finalized and submitted by that time. Contract & Terms The Contract resulting from this RFP and the Successful Offeror’s Proposal shall have an initial term from award date through June 30, 2027. The Contract shall be renewable for up to four (4) consecutive one (1) year renewal periods. The total contract period will not exceed five (5) years, subject to KRS 45A145. Annual renewal will be contingent upon the University’s needs and satisfaction with the services performed and the overall performance of the Contractor. The University reserves the right to renegotiate any term and/or condition as may be necessary to meet requirements for any renewal period.
