What the buyer is trying to do

Buy compliant 64-ounce aluminum dippers (3004 aluminum alloy with welded handle) and have them delivered to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse, evaluating bids on price (including delivery) and adherence to specifications.

Who should pursue this
  • Manufacturers or distributors with demonstrated capability to supply 3004 aluminum alloy dippers with welded handles at 64-ounce capacity.
  • Vendors with established shipping/logistics capability to deliver to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse and clearly price delivery as requested.
Work breakdown
  • Confirm ability to manufacture/supply dippers meeting specs: 3004 aluminum alloy, welded handle, 64-ounce size.
  • Define the exact product configuration to quote (dimensions/tolerances/finish/handle geometry), based strictly on the solicitation/specs provided.
  • Prepare pricing: unit price for dippers plus separately identified delivery costs to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse.
  • Plan fulfillment: production/stock availability, packaging suitable for warehouse receipt, and delivery logistics to the Central Warehouse.
  • Submit bid under Solicitation Number 0AP8ZWHRJHWR2NJ3YWXW by the Close Date (3/12/2026).
Response package checklist
  • Bid response referencing Solicitation Number 0AP8ZWHRJHWR2NJ3YWXW.
  • Product specification sheet or description explicitly stating: 3004 aluminum alloy, welded handle, 64-ounce size.
  • Pricing schedule including: unit price for dippers and any additional delivery costs (called out separately).
  • Delivery/fulfillment statement confirming delivery to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse.
  • Any required bidder representations/forms included in the solicitation (if applicable).
More BidPulsar strategy notesCompliance, pricing, teaming, risks, questions, and coverage notes
Compliance notes
  • Meet all stated specifications: 3004 aluminum alloy, welded handle, 64-ounce size; TDCJ may reject non-compliant bids.
  • Include delivery costs as part of the bid as requested (price of dippers plus any additional delivery costs).
  • Close Date listed as 3/12/2026; ensure submission timing aligns with the solicitation instructions.
Pricing strategy
  • Price with a clear breakout: unit price for the dippers plus a distinct line for delivery costs to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse (as the notice requests).
  • Avoid ambiguity: explicitly state what delivery cost includes (e.g., freight, packaging, any accessorials) to reduce evaluation friction, within the confines of solicitation instructions.
  • If you can offer volume price breaks, present them as optional alternates only if the solicitation allows alternates; otherwise keep to a single compliant price.
Teaming and subs
  • Consider a logistics/freight partner if you cannot directly manage delivery to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse at competitive cost.
  • If you are a distributor, ensure your upstream manufacturer can provide documentation that the dippers are made of 3004 aluminum alloy and have welded handles.
Risks and watchouts
  • Specification noncompliance risk: alloy must be 3004 and handle must be welded; deviations may be rejected outright per TDCJ’s stated right to reject noncompliant bids.
  • Incomplete pricing risk: failing to include delivery costs (or failing to clearly identify them) could make the bid nonresponsive to the stated request.
  • Requirement ambiguity risk: the brief does not provide quantity, packaging, or detailed dimensional requirements—misalignment could lead to delivery/acceptance issues unless clarified.
Smart questions to ask
  • What is the required quantity of 64-ounce dippers for this procurement?
  • Are there any required dimensions/tolerances, wall thickness, finish (anodized/natural), or handle length requirements beyond “64 ounces, 3004 alloy, welded handle”?
  • Are there packaging/palletization/labeling requirements for delivery to the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse?
  • What is the required delivery date or acceptable lead time after award?
  • What is the exact ship-to address and receiving hours/procedures for the TDCJ Facilities Central Warehouse?
  • Are substitutions allowed (e.g., equivalent aluminum alloy) or is 3004 mandatory with no exceptions?
  • Is there a required bid format, forms, or certifications that must accompany the price quote?
