This work involves disconnecting existing water meters from the service water lines located at the rear or side of the properties and connecting new water service lines of the residences to the existing water meter at the front of the property, as shown on the attached sketch in the appendices. The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, and equipment as specified or necessary for a complete Project including but not limited to trench excavation, placing a sand/fine gravel bed on the bottom of the trench for pipe bedding, furnishing and installing the new water service from the new water meter located in front of the property to the existing household potable water. The Work also includes the safety and protection of the homeowner’s property, coordinating and obtaining necessary inspections from the Building Office of the municipality in which the work is to be performed, proper disposal of removed materials and other appurtenant and miscellaneous related items, and completion of the work to ensure a finished project License Requirements a. At the time of Bid and according to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, and these Solicitation and Contract Documents, the Bidder must hold a valid, current, and active: i. Certificate of Competency from the County's Construction Trades Qualifying Board as a General Contractor or Plumbing. or ii. Certification, as a General Contractor or Plumbing Contractor, provided by the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, according to the provisions of Florida Statutes Chapter 489.115. Experience 1. The Bidder must demonstrate that it has full-time personnel with the necessary experience to perform the Project’s Scope of Work. The Bidder shall provide a list of no less than three (3) references who can confirm that the Bidder has completed projects performed by the identified personnel, the bulk of whose work performed on the private property is similar in detail to the Project’s Scope of Work described in these Solicitation Documents. Each reference shall include the following: the contact’s name, telephone number, e-mail address, and location where the work was performed. Bid submission must be electronic, through the Trimble Unity Construct (eBuilder) Bid Portal, with a hard copy sent to WASD postmarked within one (1) business day of the bid submittal date, mailed to WASD [3071 SW 38th Avenue, Suite 107, Miami, FL 33146] The original Bid Security (in the form of a bid bond or cashier’s check) MUST be delivered to WASD, at the address above, BEFORE the bids are opened. Failure to deliver the original will result in the bid submission being rejected as non-responsive.
